Letting Go of the Wheel

Trust God
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love (Psalm 33:4-5)

Do you have complete faith in Christ? When I say complete faith, I mean, no matter what. If you lose your job. If you are struggling financially. If you are worried or fearful.

The standard response is “God gave you a brain”. In other words, lean on yourself not God. Often, our brain is also influenced by Satan who looks for an opportunity to attack. Examine your thoughts. Are you fearful, stressed or anxious? Do you think negatively? Are you always going to the worst-case scenario?

Can you by worrying add a single moment to your life? NO, but you can take away your joy.

Our confidence in Christ comes in knowing Him. God needs to renew our minds so we can have the mind of Christ and see things through HIS eyes not the worlds. When we spend time with Him and in His Word, we learn the extent of His great faithfulness and can accept that God WILL provide our every need.

Once we understand this, the way we approach the challenges of life changes.

What does it mean to trust God?

  1. You are confident in Him
  2. You are safe
  3. You are blessed
  4. You wait on Him
  5. Your hope is in Him alone
  6. You let Him take control of your tests and trials and allow HIM to solve them for you (way better then you could have)

Build your confidence, think back on all the times God has shown himself faithful. Think of situations that could have turned out worse than they did and thank God for His grace. It’s time to let go of the wheel and let Christ take over.

PRAYER:

Lord I ask that you renew my mind. When negative thoughts rise, I will fight back using your word. I will say to myself “I have the mind of Christ” knowing that your mind only thinks good things about me and my future. Knowing that you are for me, not against me. I will rejoice in hope, be patient in trial and be constant in prayer. Help me to let go of my life and to trust you more.
God this is what I’m going through ( …..Tell your Father ….. ). I am struggling and stressed BUT I trust you. My hope is in you alone.
In Jesus name, Amen.
