Living. But do you have LIFE?

Choose life
I have come so that you may have life and have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

Many have found their life without Jesus and so, don’t think they need Him. The ones who say “I have a degree, a job and money. I provide for myself. What did God do?”. They have satisfied their earthly desires and instead of thanking God, they fall away from Him.

How can someone have their life together without Jesus?

Matthew 10:39 says “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it”. If you think you have your life together without Christ, think again. Anyone who finds their earthly life without regard for God will lose both earthly and eternal life. The idea is to live our lives in the presence of God, under the authority of God, and for the honor and glory of God (R.C. Sproul).

If you live this life for the next, you get this one in the deal; but if you live only for this world, you lose both (C.S Lewis).

How can we lose our earthly life?

If we belong to Christ, then we have died in Christ. This means we have given up all the passions and desires of our flesh. We are dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed. We get rid of our body of sin (that is bound for death) and do not give into its desires but instead follow God’s perfect will (we choose to be alive and to have life)!

Jesus came so we can have life and have it more abundantly. In doing God’s Will and to keep trying to do His will, we die to our earthly sinful body and find eternal life. So keep pushing on the path towards Christ. There is something amazing on the other end of obedience.

Jesus, you died on the cross so I might have life. Help me to die to my flesh and be crucified with you so I can have life in you. Your word says I am not under obligation of the flesh to obey its lusts so I speak my life over to you. Help me to honor and glorify you with my body, soul and spirit. If I have fallen short of your glory, show me and teach me your ways. You are faithful God who will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I can bear. I declare I will live righteously knowing that you strengthen me. In Jesus name, Amen.
