In You I Find Rest

Prayer - talking to God
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28)

Have you ever felt the weight of the world on your shoulders?

How crippling. How overwhelming. Listening to the news. Taking in all the horrible things happening in this world. Getting entangled in the problems of others. Making them your own.

Such things leave us feeling weary, burdened and crushed. They serve to distract us from doing what God wants us to do because instead of focusing on Him, our focus shifts to our emotions where sadness, fear and worry look to strike

But this IS NOT what God instructs us to do.

The Lord desires for you to be joyful, to never stop praying and to be thankful always.  He doesn’t want you feeling weary or burdened. He says ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is EASY and my burden is LIGHT’.

Cast all your cares onto the Lord and rest in Him who cares so dearly for you.

Dear Lord, I come to you asking for forgiveness. I release and forgive all those who have hurt me. I let go of all my pain, burdens, sadness and hurt and lay it at your feet. I remind my situations that no matter how big they seem, you are BIGGER. You are a great and awesome God who is faithful and loving. You will work everything out for my good and for the good of others. I ask for your healing power to flood my life. I desire to come into your presence and take my rest as I give you the care of my situation. Thank you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
