A Step towards Life

Close to God
The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible (Dwight L. Moody)

To have a relationship with God, we must first make the choice. Next, we stick to it and commit. We must then fight the urge to be distracted. To keep scrolling on facebook or Instagram. To keep watching episode after episode of that TV show. We must discipline our flesh because the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. And God’s strength is perfected in our weakness so ask Him for what you lack.

Sin separates us from God. We must reject evil and turn away from sin.

God’s love is unfailing so we rest knowing if we confess our sins, God is FAITHFUL and JUST and will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness and once God forgives us, He does not remember our sins. When we confess, we need to strive to be Christ like. We need to live for Him. Continue trying to be better.

Satan will use fear of judgement, shame and embarrassment to keep us from confessing our sins to God because once that darkness is brought into the light it can no longer hide. It has no power because you are no longer separated from God. Cling to God in every trial.  You are facing an enemy who wants nothing more than to deceive, destroy and bring death.

You are not too broken, unclean, unworthy or unwanted in God’s eyes. He wants you. All of you. He can make you NEW. He will cleanse you of your sins and heal all your wounds. If you’ve gone off the path God wants for you, you are not beyond saving. Just turn right back around and let Him restore you and in turn bring all the blessings He has for your life. If you think you have ruined God’s plans for your life just relax, you are not that powerful. God’s got this. He’s got you.

The smallest step towards God will be the biggest step in your life. Get to know Him by reading His Word and spending time with Him. Just keep pushing on the path to Him.

Dear Lord, give me a heart that endures. Give me a mind that is focused and a spirit that hungers and thirsts for you. I want to know you. Holy Spirit teach me.  In Jesus name, Amen
