Deep Waters

The Rescue

“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters” (Psalm 18)

Have you ever found yourself in deep waters? In a situation where you felt trapped with no clear way of escape? I have. I took a few wrong turns and found myself chained up by the enemy. I was tormented with negative and crippling thoughts, overwhelming emotion and a one-way ticket to the fiery lake all because I was living in sin. But in my distress, I called to the Lord. I cried for help and He heard me.

God reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of deep water. He rescued me from my disasters because He delighted in me. Though I was still a sinner, He rescued me. Though I was unworthy, He showed me His mercy and unfailing love.

God looked at my sins, my brokenness and the mess I made and said “Give it all to me. The price has been paid, you are free”.

When you are truly sorry for your sins, you will be BROKEN. Broken by your sins. Broken by the fact that the one you sinned against is the innocent sinless Christ and broken that even though you deserve death and punishment, God says “NO. Let me have it. I will take your sins and make you NEW”. I was a sheep going astray but I returned to my Shepard and overseer of my soul.

So if you are in deep waters then go to your Father in Heaven who walks on water. No situation is too hard for Him. No mistake is too big for Him.

He’s got this, He’s got you and He will make a way! Praise the Lord.

PRAYER

Lord please break off every connection I have ever had to the enemy and to anything that was not of you. Send your Holy Spirit to break me. To break my heart for everything that breaks yours. I know I won’t always understand but I trust you and I choose you Lord.  In Jesus name, Amen.
